March 12-13, 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand
GCP in association with its partners is co-organizing the workshop on "Climate Compatible Urban Development: Towards developing assessment framework for cities". The workshop addresses among other questions what are the potential quantitative and qualitative sets of indicators that allow assessment of (a) climate compatible urban development or (b) the climate compatible urban development pathways over time? March 1-2, 2012 in Tokyo, Japan:
GCP together with NIES is organizing the workshop entitled "Water-Energy-Carbon Nexus in Cities: Drivers, footprints, and implications". The aims of the event are to enhance our knowledge and understanding of the water-energy-carbon nexus in cities and to facilitate interactions amongst key scholars and build a network with emphasis on Asian cities

March 10-11, 2011 in Vienna, Austria:
GCP together with IIASA, PIK and NIES has organized an international workshop on the topic "Urban Energy and Carbon Modeling in a Rapidly Urbanizing World"

November 29, 2010 in Tsukuba, Japan:
GCP Seminar where Prof. Sudhakar Yedla of Indira Gandhi Institute for Development Research (IGIDR) of Mumbai will gave a talk entitled: "Urban Energy and Carbon Intensity in India and Its Determinants – A Household Level Analysis".

November 7-9, 2010 in Tokyo, Japan:
GCP is supporting ISIE Asia-Pacific Meeting and ISIE MFA-ConAccount Meeting (7-9 November 2010, Tokyo) and organizing three sessions on urban metabolism, one each day of the conference, see program at (http://www.isieapmfa.info/page/program. html), in order to assist the research community in addressing the urban metabolism and carbon management linkages.

November 1-3, 2010 in Yokohama, Japan:
Early career researchers from the Asia-Pacific had the opportunity to participate in a capacity building workshop entitled "Carbon Governance in Asia: Bridging Scales and Disciplines". The event was co-organized by GCP's URCM initiative, Earth System Governance and UNU-IAS.
